The dates for the WRFC Online are 28 & 30 June 2021. Both days the program will start on 13.00 CEST and end around 17.30 CEST. The platform will be EventInsight (Let’s Get Digital) and Aanmelder.nl will be used for registrations. There will be no registration fee. We are currently working on the program!

The live event of the 9th World Recreation Fishing Conference  as planned in july 2021 is cancelled, because of COVID-19. In stead of this live congress we will organize a smaller online event of two half days. We will shortly inform you on the dates, themes and program.

Last spring we had to postpone the WRFC 9 to 2021, due to the COVID-19 crisis. At the end of 2020 we had to conclude that the organization of a live event in 2021 was very unlikely to succeed. It is foreseen that people will not get a permission of their organization to travel until COVID-19 is beaten and this will not be before this summer. Together with the Scientific Board and our management we decided to cancel the live congress for 2021.

Because we want to keep the recfish community in contact, our plan for this summer is to organize a smaller online congress of two half days, with a small number of speakers in three parallel sessions. Themes and speakers need still to be discussed with the Scientific Board. We come back to you soon with more detailed plans. We hope that we can organize a live event in the summer of 2022, but the decision is postponed until this summer.

2-4-2020

The next WRFC, the 10th, will be in 2024. Therefor the deadline for submitting a bidbook is also postponed to 1 May 2021. During the conference in Rotterdam on 6 July the host for WRFC10 will be announced by the scientific board.

We are happy to announce that new dates were found and we booked the venue De Doelen for hosting WRFC9 from 4-8 Juli 2021!

24-3-2020

Sportvisserij Nederland, together with the Scientific Board, has decided to postpone WRFC 9 to 2021 due to the covid-19 crisis. People who have already registered for the conference will get their payment back, less the transaction costs.

All accepted abstracts will also be accepted for 2021. We will check with the authors wheter they are able to come in 2021 as soon as we have new dates.

17-3-2020

We receive questions whether the WRFC will proceed given the current situation with regard to the COVID-19 virus.

At this very moment there is no reason to reschedule or cancel the conference yet, because it still takes more than 3 months before  it is planned. However, it is not the right time to register for the conference of buy flight tickets (if this is possible at all).

We will keep a close eye on developments and will inform you as things develop. Safety is our top priority. We hope to decide in 4 weeks what to do.
